Zoey said such sweet and passionate things to Mike that night, so she is confused when he runs away crying. Little did she know it was really Mal she was saying that stuff to. Mal had never heard such sweet, passionate and loving words spoken to him, so why was he crying? Because he knew those words weren't meant for him, they were meant for Mike and he knew it. He knew he would never have anybody that would speak so lovingly to him because everyone loved Mike more than him, so what more is he to do than cry over his broken heart?
